Who can apply
Dependents of deceased garda members who were fatally injured while on duty, while acting in a general capacity as a member or simply because they were a member of An Garda Síochána, can apply for compensation.
Information you will need
You will need the following information:
- name and address of the applicant
- name and rank of the deceased
- relationship of applicant to the deceased
- proof that the applicant (or each of the applicants) was dependent, or partly dependent on the deceased
- date and place of death of the deceased
- information about the injuries inflicted on the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the malicious injuries
