Role

Principal Officer, Climate Action Unit

Responsibilities

The Climate Action Unit supports the Taoiseach and Government in tackling climate change and transitioning to a climate neutral economy. It plays an important role in ensuring whole-of-Government co-ordination, which is essential in making sure that every Department and sector plays its part.

The work of the Unit is broad and cross-cutting, supporting policy delivery and unlocking barriers in our transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient, resource efficient and environmentally sustainable economy and society. Its key functions include monitoring and driving implementation of Climate Action Plans and supporting the Cabinet Committee on the Environment and Climate Change and the Climate Action Delivery Board.
