The National Pilot Community Volunteer Programme is a Government led collaboration with Volunteer Ireland, the network of Volunteer Centres and the local authorities.
The aim of this programme is that Ireland is better placed to respond quickly, effectively and professionally to national emergencies, through the creation of a diverse, trained and flexible Volunteer Reserve programme in each local authority area.
This programme is a key deliverable of the National Volunteering Strategy, launched last December, and also a commitment in the Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021 Plan.
Initially, it will be rolled out across 10 local authorities in seven counties across the country; Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Louth, Meath and Wicklow. With further rollout planned for the remaining local authorities over the next 18 months.
Please contact your local Volunteer Centre for more information.
