The Attorney General's Office and Chief State Solicitor's Office are public bodies for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 2014. However it should be noted that under Section 42 of the Act records created or held by the Offices, other than records relating to the general administration of the Offices, are not covered by the Act. The public has a right of access to records concerning the general administration of the Chief State Solicitor's Office but no others.
For FOI purposes the AGO and CSSO are treated as one organisation.
