EU meeting discussing Migration, Internal Security and Organised Crime

Niall Collins TD, Minister of State with special responsibility for International Law, Law Reform and Youth Justice, represented Ireland at a meeting of European Justice and Home Affairs Ministers held in Cyprus.

Cabinet approval was secured to publish the General Scheme of Judicial Council (Amendment) Bill 2026 to amend the Judicial Council Act 2019 regarding Personal Injuries Guidelines.

Government approval has been secured to develop strengthened legislation on the lawful interception of communications.

Ireland’s first set of Child Maintenance Guidelines was launched at a Family Justice stakeholder event in Dublin.
