Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, has today (2 July 2020) welcomed the appointment of Peter Burke TD and Malcolm Noonan TD as Ministers of State within the department.
Minister Burke has been appointed as Minister for Local Government and Planning, while Minister Noonan has been appointed as the Minister for Heritage and Electoral Reform.
Welcoming the appointments, Minister O’Brien said:
"I’d like to congratulate Peter and Malcolm on their appointments as Ministers of State and wish them well in their new roles. I know they will be as keen as I am to hit the ground running and start delivering on our ambitious Programme for Government.
"This is a department that covers a wide range of hugely important issues, and its work will be vital as the new government works towards its goal of creating a fairer, more equal Ireland. I know Peter and Malcolm will be as committed to that goal as I am, and I look forward to working with them to achieve it."
