The Department of Health has commenced publication of national data tables on non-monetary healthcare statistics. These tables will be released yearly in advance of their publication via Eurostat and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The information will be hosted on gov.ie, providing a centralised place for the public to access data and its metadata. It will also be available on data.gov.ie in line with the government’s commitment to the European Union Open Data Directive.
The data will allow researchers and the wider public more timely access to national information and will provide them with a better understanding of Ireland’s data on a range of health topics and how it can compare with that of other countries.
The tables published today include national healthcare statistics compiled by the Department of Health as part of the Non-Monetary Health Care Statistics questionnaire, administered jointly by Eurostat, OECD and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Highlights from the published data include:
The publication of open data tables satisfies European Peer review recommendations that Ireland should make national data available in advance of its publication via Eurostat and OECD. The report is available online.
