Minister of State with responsibility for Public Procurement, Ossian Smyth, has encouraged all businesses on the national tendering platform, eTenders, to ensure that they stay up-to-date with upcoming platform changes on gov.ie/ogp.
The new eTenders platform is going live on 15 May 2023. While all existing registration details will be transferred to the new platform, users will need to re-input certain details, as well as adding some additional details, when activating their account on the new platform.
Users can log on and confirm their details to access the platform from 15 May onwards. New competitions will be published on the platform from 22 May onwards, to allow time for suppliers to make sure that their information is up-to-date, and that they are registered for relevant alerts.
A key priority for the project team following feedback from the SME Advisory Group, chaired by Minister Smyth, was to minimise any disruption to the flow of business opportunities during the transition to the new platform.
As the Go-Live date approaches, a clear set of steps will be provided on gov.ie/ogp to assist users on first login to the new platform. This will include a guide on how to register for alerts for relevant competitions on the new platform.
Minister of State Smyth said:
“I want to emphasise to all businesses on eTenders how important it is to stay up-to-date with the upcoming eTenders system changes, particularly in the coming weeks. This is vital to make sure that you aren’t missing out on any business opportunities that are published on the new platform once it goes live.
“The eTenders project team has prioritised making the transition to the new platform as easy as possible for both businesses and contracting authorities. There will be support available to all users, including a targeted training programme for suppliers that features self-guided learning tools such as step-by-step videos, training manuals and webinars."
Training webinars for suppliers will take place between 10 May and 19 May 2023 (these dates may be subject to change). Places on these webinars will be limited, but suppliers who are unable to attend the webinars live will be able to watch recordings on gov.ie/ogp. Details on registering for these webinars will be made available in the coming weeks.
Chief Procurement Officer for the State and CEO of the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) Paul Quinn said:
“The switch to the new eTenders platform will require users to update their details which will help to ensure that their information is up-to-date so that they can continue to access the variety of opportunities available to them through public procurement.
“The new platform will promote digitalisation with the increased online functionality and will continue to offer free and unrestricted access to procurement competitions.
“In the process of implementing the new platform, the OGP has prioritised business continuity for suppliers, and supporting all users as we transition to the new platform. I encourage all businesses on eTenders to stay up-to-date on gov.ie/ogp to make sure that they are not missing out.”
The Office of Government Procurement (OGP), following extensive stakeholder consultation and a comprehensive tendering process, has selected a new supplier to provide the national tendering service, eTenders. European Dynamics will provide the platform from 15 May 2023.
