National Support Organisation, funding under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-27
The Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman, today launched a call for Proposals from interested bodies to fulfil the role of a National Support Organisation under the Community Sponsorship Ireland Programme. Funding is available to support the establishment of a National Support Organisation under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027 (hereinafter referred to as AMIF).
The National Support Organisation, would have primary responsibility for the promotional strategy of the Community Sponsorship (CS) programme, developing the CS programme, providing specialised training and support and would act as the central contact point for potential Community Sponsorship Groups.
The Irish Refugee Protection Programme Unit may commit up to €2,000,000 in this Call.
The contract duration: Commencing on 1 July 2024 and should end no later than 31st December 2027.
Announcing the call for applications, the Minister O’Gorman said:
“The continuation of the Community Sponsorship programme in Ireland, as recently approved by Government, presents us with real opportunities for cultural enrichment in communities throughout Ireland. I look forward to watching the Programme grow in scale over the course of the coming years.
The provision of this funding will assist in ensuring that refugees brought to Ireland under the Community Sponsorship Programme have the best opportunity to integrate successfully into Irish life and make a real contribution.”
All applications will be focused on activity in the State, nationwide.

This call is part of AMIF 2021-2027 National Programme and open to public, private and voluntary bodies.
The European Commission approved Ireland’s National Programme AMIF 2021-2027 on 19th December 2022. The Funds Administration Unit in the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth is designated as Ireland’s Managing Authority for the AMIF.
The overall objective of the EU Asylum Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027 is to promote the efficient management of migration flows and the implementation, strengthening and development of a common EU approach to asylum and immigration.
The Fund has four Specific Objectives:
a) Strengthening and developing all aspects of the Common European Asylum System, including its external dimension;
b) Strengthening and developing to support legal migration to the Member States in accordance with their economic and social needs, and promoting and contributing to the effective integration and social inclusion of third country nationals;
c) Contributing to countering irregular migration, enhancing effective, safe and dignified return and readmission, and promoting and contributing to effective initial reintegration in third countries; and
d) Enhancing solidarity and fair sharing of responsibility between the member states, in particular in regards to those most affected by migration and asylum challenges, including through practical co-operation.
