Bioeconomy Ireland Week (BIW) is an annual week-long event held each October to highlight and raise awareness of Ireland’s rapidly growing bioeconomy. The celebration is a collaboration of events and awareness raising initiatives involving industry, local communities, producers, researchers, and students throughout Ireland. The awareness raising week is coordinated by the Irish Bioeconomy Network around a central theme.
Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2023 took place between 16 – 22 October 2023. The theme for the event was “Empowering Ireland’s Bioeconomy for a Greener Tomorrow”, where a broad range of stakeholders from across Ireland’s bioeconomy demonstrated how individually and collectively the bioeconomy is being developed in a sustainable and circular way to address climate action and promote a healthy environment.
