use links in context. Don't link off one word. Instead, link off a phrase which explains what you can do by clicking on the link
do not use vague words or phrases like “click here” or “more information”
make sure the alternative text (alt text) of the link says what the link is and where it is going. For example, “link to National Strategy on Climate Change”
do not include punctuation in links
people scan pages when they look at them first. They are drawn to links because they are a different colour. Therefore, you should only use links where they are needed. Lists of links have proven to be distracting for users
