Does your organisation use the PPS number at present?

If so for what purpose?
PPSN numbers are requested for a variety of purposes as follows: for identification purposes in assessment of rents, for claiming tax-relief at source on mortgages, for rent allowance claims, for private housing adaptation grants, for SICAP on the personnel system, claiming sick pay and other benefits, on the Payroll system, correspondence with Revenue commissioners, P60's,
In relation to SICAP the PPS number of participants of the Social Inclusion and community Activation Programme (SICAP) from January 2018 will be collected by the Programme Implementers (PLs) who deliver the scheme on behalf of the Local Authority. The PPS number will be requested for a number of reasons, including to register on the programme, for referrals to the programme from other Bodies, and for programme evaluation purposes.
Does your organisation exchange the PPS Number with any external body? If so please name the relevant bodies and state the purpose(s) of the exchange.
Revenue Commissioners, Department of Social Protection.
Does your organisation have any other plans involving the use of the PPS Number?
No future plans at present to extend use but intend continuing existing use.

The situation with the PPS Number would be that which applies to all other data covered by Data Protection Legislation.
