Rhododendron control as part of necessary conservation measures within Mweelrea/Sheeffry/Erriff Complex Special Area of Conservation. The Invasive non-native Rhododendron ponticum stands have been shown to reduce biodiversity, extirpate native species, prevent woodland regeneration and be a host to the important plant pathogen Phytophthora ramorum.
