In light of the on-going COVID-19 crisis the Oireachtas Business Committee agreed to the implementation of a new email based COVID-19 related queries system for TDs.
This system allowed for TDs to submit COVID-19 related queries for Government Departments via a dedicated email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) on a weekly basis. The Questions Office in the Oireachtas then forwarded the email to the relevant Government Department for reply within 4 working days. A total of 5 sessions were completed (see below).
On 5 May 2020, the Oireachtas Business Committee agreed that the Written PQ system was to be reinstated and the Covid-related query system would cease, with last queries for answer on 11 May 2020.
