Responsibility at Principal Level for leading the public health response to drug use and working with other departments and stakeholders to implement the national drugs strategy; chairing the British Ireland Council Sectoral Group on drugs and alcohol; representing Ireland at EU and international bodies dealing with drugs; meeting health and social care needs of social excluded groups; overseeing expenditure on drug and alcohol services and inclusion health services under HSE national service plan, the Drugs Initiative and Dormant Accounts; and coordinating the health response to Ukrainian refugees; and leading the Department's contribution to the Dublin North East Inner City initiative.
