Terrestrial Irish bookmakers must apply for a Certificate of Personal Fitness in order to operate. Revenue
may only issue a Bookmaker’s Licence
where the applicant holds a Certificate of Personal Fitness.
Applications for Certificates of Personal Fitness from terrestrial operators ordinarily resident in the State must be made to a Superintendent of An Garda Síochána following the placement of an advertisement in two daily, national newspapers.
The advertisement and the application form must be in the format specified in the forms below. The full requirements of applicants are set out in the Betting (Amendment) Act 2015.
