The Collaborative Farming Grant Scheme provides financial support aimed at covering part of the legal, advisory and financial services costs of setting up a Registered Farm Partnership.
The scheme is open to all ‘brand new’ Registered farm partnerships which have been placed on the Department’s Register of Farm Partnerships and which have been allocated a Farm Partnership Registration Number (FPRN).
They include a Young Farmer as a partner. The Young Farmer is as defined in the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027.
Supporting receipts and documents must be provided as part of the application process. You must comply with all the terms and conditions of the scheme.
Terms of Collaborative Farming Grant Scheme- 12th Tranche
When applying, do not include VAT in your declared costs. VAT is not included under the Collaborative Farming Scheme. Inclusion of VAT will render your application ineligible.
Partnership benefits
Partnerships have a number of benefits for participants as they:
•Improve scale and efficiency within primary agricultural production by encouraging the consolidation of blocks of land held and operated by farmers not within the same family
•Encourage new skills and specialisation in primary production through the required enhanced educational qualifications of the participants
•Improve the age structure of Irish agriculture by supporting arrangements that have at least one partner who qualifies as a Young Farmer (under 41), with priority being given to partnerships which also have a partner who is over 60 years of age
Ranking and selection
All applications received will be subjected to ranking and selection criteria. Payment priority will be given to those with more marks in the event of the number of applications exceeding the funding available. Applicants must receive at least 40 marks in order to be considered eligible for the grant. The criteria are as follows:
Partnerships where one or more partner has the required level of an agricultural qualification |
Partnerships with a Young Trained Farmer (under 41 years of age) [1] |
[1] At the time of being placed on the Register
You must read the Terms and Conditions
The payment will be calculated at up to 50% of the vouched (VAT exclusive) cost for the total legal, advisory and financial services incurred in the establishment of the Registered Farm Partnership up to a maximum payment of €1,500.
The Scheme is operated in tranches. Under the current tranche, partnerships who applied for a Registered Farm Partnership since the 1st of January 2023 will be invited to apply for a grant. Eligible Registered Farm Partnerships will be invited to apply upon the opening of each Tranche and will receive an email with the appropriate application form and the procedures involved.
The applications must be completed and submitted with all required documents by Friday 29th of September 2023.
