Location of proposed development:

Dublin Road, from the N52 Marlinstown Roundabout to the area in the vicinity of Bellview Clinic; Ardmore Road, from its roundabout junction with Dublin Road and Petitswood Close to the entrance to Ardmore Hills; and all junctions along these roadways. The scheme is approximately 2.5km in length.

Nature and extent of proposed development:

  • proposed improvements to footpaths (minimum width 1.8m);
  • provision of two-way segregated cycle tracks for approximately 1.7km (minimum width 2m);
  • provision of approximately 330m of shared pedestrian and cyclist paths;
  • bus stop infrastructure;
  • pedestrian crossings;
  • traffic calming measures;
  • upgrade of the existing National Science Park Roundabout, including pedestrian crossing facilities;
  • upgrade of all junctions including provision of pedestrian crossing facilities;
  • tie-in to existing active travel facilities on Ardmore Road;
  • tie-in to existing on-road cycle paths on the Dublin Road approaching the Delvin Road Junction;
  • vehicular carriageway width of 6.5m along Dublin Road and 6m along Ardmore Road
