Gary Tobin is the Assistant Secretary General with responsibility for International and EU Division.
He is Ireland’s representative on the EU’s Economic and Financial Committee and on the Eurogroup Working Group. He serves as Ireland’s representative on the Board of Directors of the European Stability Mechanism and on the Board of Directors of the European Financial Stability Facility.
He was previously Assistant Secretary General with responsibility for Banking and Financial Stability and prior to that he was Assistant Secretary General in the Tax Policy Division.
He is a Certified Bank Director with the Institute of Banking and is a member of the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service (IGEES). He edited and co-authored the book “Irish Tax Policy in Perspective”, which is published by the Irish Tax Institute.
