About Migration and Ireland
The Immigration Service Delivery unit in the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration is responsible for making decisions about who can visit, study or live in Ireland as well as who is entitled to International Protection and Temporary Protection (for those fleeing the war in Ukraine).

The Border Management Unit is responsible for frontline immigration control at Dublin Airport and An Garda Síochána are responsible for all other ports of entry.
There is also a returns process in place for those who are not entitled to be Ireland.
