Ann has been in her current role since 2021. She is responsible for the delivery, co-ordination and management of professional legislative drafting services, including Bills and statutory instruments, by a team of specialist legislative drafters (Assistant Parliamentary Counsel, who are solicitors and barristers) for the following Departments of State:
- Department of Defence
- Department of Education and Youth
- Department of Finance
- Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science
- Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.
The drafting of legislation relating to the regulation of financial services, including the annual Finance Bill, security and defence, education, further and higher education and Government finances comes within the remit of PC Group 2.
Ann is a member of the Government Legislation Committee, chaired by the Chief Whip, and reports to the Committee in respect of the drafting of legislation which falls within her area of responsibility.
