Government Chief Information Officer

From: Department of Public Expenditure and Reform

The Government Chief Information Officer has responsibility for directing all activities of the Office, including;

  • the implementation of the Public Service ICT Strategy and delivering better outcomes and efficiency through innovation and excellence in ICT;
  • representing Ireland at fora such as the EU CIO Network and EU Commission eGovernment Action Plan 2016-2020 Steering Board;
  • the development and application of a range of Information and Communication Technology policies;
  • ICT services for the Department, and its offices, and the Department of Finance, including the development of business systems;
  • supporting digital innovation in support of Public Service Reform and Civil Service Renewal .
