Leave of absence may be granted, in accordance with the provisions of the scheme outlined in the Circulars, to a teacher/ special needs assistant who is unable to perform his/her duties due to a physical injury following an assault in the course of their duties and during approved school activities.
An Application Form (attached at Appendix A of the Circular) must be completed by the teacher/SNA concerned and by the employer, and forwarded by the employer to the Department/ETB within a week of the incident occurring.
