You will not receive a P60 from the Department of Education for 2019 or subsequent years. Instead, from 1 January 2020 you will have access to an Employment Detail Summary in myAccount
on the Revenue website. It is accessible through the ‘Review your tax’ link in PAYE Services. New users of Revenue’s myAccount service can register at https://www.ros.ie/myaccount-web/register.html?execution=e1s1
The Employment Detail Summary contains your pay and statutory deductions for the year as reported to the Revenue by your employer(s). This summary verifies your income for a historical tax year or for the current tax year (ie. a year-to-date figure). The document can be used as proof of income where required by third parties. The Employment Detail Summary on the Revenue website has all the information required and replaces the P60.
You can create a document to view or print if required. There is a facility for you to generate a PDF. You can send the PDF directly to the bank or financial institution and you can provide the financial institution/third party with the Access Code. This enables the financial institution to securely view the information and they can be satisfied that the details provided are an accurate copy of the income returned to Revenue. This facility also eliminates the requirement for the Department to issue financial statements required for banks and other financial institutions.
From 1st January 2019 cessations of employment are notified to Revenue using the employer’s submission file facility. P45s are not issued for employments which cease after the 1st January 2019.
How to request a P45, a copy of my P60 or a Statement of Salary for tax years prior to 2019
