Ireland has provided extensive supports to the people affected by the war in Ukraine and intends to continue to support the beneficiaries of temporary protection. Proposals have been approved by Government, in line with the 2025 EU Council Recommendation, for a co-ordinated approach to transition people out of Temporary Protection across the EU.

In recognition of the valuable contribution the people from the Ukraine have made to Ireland, since the outbreak of war, the State will introduce alternative permission to live and work here.
